STABIA, OPLONTIS AND BOSCOREALE
Spectacular tour in the archaeological sourrandings of Pompeii
When Vesuvius erupted on 24 August AD 79, it engulfed the two flourishing Roman towns of Pompei and Herculaneum, as well as the wealthy villages of oplontis and Stabiae.
The vast expanse of the Villas at Satbiae and Oplontis contrasts with the smaller remains of the farming resort specialized in the production of vine of Boscoreale named Villa Regina.
At Boscoreale next to the Villa there is an Antiquarium presenting artefacts from all the Vesuvian archaeological sites, findings of the local flora and fauna, a collection of objects from the ancient agricultural life, food such as the typical carbonized loafs of bread, cosmetics and health remedies.
Tourists that have the chance to visit these extraordinary sites will be able to understand better the daily life before the 79 A. D.
