Emiliano's private tour of Pompeii was a delight. He was engaging, exceptionally knowledgeable and able to bring an ancient civilization to life for us, both through his explanations of the sites and his ability to answer pretty much every question we asked. We found out about Emiliano here on trip advisor after searching a few other companies and websites and I was sold on all of the current great reviews he has gotten from his other clients. We had never taken a private tour before because they are on the more expensive side of the equation, but decided Pompeii was worth it. We have never been fans of group tours either, but thought Pompeii would be even more spectacular if we had a knowledgeable guide with us. We booked a 4-hour private tour of Pompeii on a Saturday morning with him. It was only my husband, our 2-year old and myself (current 6 months pregnant) and we needed a tour in the early morning when it was cooler and less crowded. He was prompt in answering and super easy to communicate with (fast replies) and no hassles in booking or setting up the details for our tour. He met us at the Porta Anfiteatro (closer to our hotel) on time and took us through the ruins smoothly. He brought it all to life and taught us sooo much! We had the clear impression he knew everything about Pompeii and really cared about giving us the best he could! We covered as much as possible of Pompeii within the time we had and I couldn't be happier! The 4 hours were just the right amount of time for us! We saw a lot and our energy ended as the tour ended hehehe which is what I was aiming for. My husband was carrying our 2-year old in a backpack carrier so we could move around better and faster. My family and I just came back from our Mediterranean cruise and all we can talk about is the amazing time we had in Pompeii. I was originally going to use our ships organized tours, but the problem would be that we would be controlled by the "movements of the herd" with the 60 or so that would be in the group. Plus, I wanted the freedom that a large group just doesn't allow. Finding Emiliano solved ALL of these problems.

1. For just a few more dollars, I was able to have a private tour, with a car and driving waiting for us as we left our ship. We already started to feel like rock stars!

2. Having young children, I just didn't want to expose my boys to certain things (the brothel). No problem! Emiliano designed our tour for our preferences. If we wanted extra time in one place, no problem. If we wanted to move closer to another area, no problem. If we lingered to take 30 pictures of the same rock, no problem! There was never a feel of rushing around.

3. The knowledge of Emiliano himself! To be able to ask questions, priceless (especially for my boys). He made EVERYTHING very easy to understand.

4. He took care of us. We wanted good pizza in Napoli, so he communicated with the driver to ensure that he would take us where we wanted and ensure that we arrived safely back to our cruise ship!
